Encore of Colines in Algeria
Colines continues its growth in the blown film extrusion market by supplying two state-of-the-art Polyblown lines to the company Sofiplast, a market leader in flexible film production in Algeria. Both plants, currently undergoing testing, are equipped with three 3-layer extruders for a width of 3,200 mm.
"We are pleased to have chosen Colines for this strategic supply for our company," explains Sofiplast director. “Colines has proven to be a technologically advanced company, capable of designing and delivering extrusion lines with top-notch features. We can say that they have overcome our expectations and even the level of the lines we have already installed and operating in our production sites."
"From a technical standpoint, I must say that the innovative design of the extrusion die has allowed significantly reduced setup and die change times compared to what we are used to, even though the lines we already own are of a high standard. On a human level, there has been excellent collaboration with the Colines team both for the commissioning phase and for the tests, which ran smoothly. In this phase, we were able to fully appreciate the collaboration between the technical teams of the two companies, which allowed us to work under ideal conditions", Sofiplast director added.
The Polyblown 3-layer 3,200 mm is designed to produce a wide range of products. As a matter of fact, during testing, 8 different productions were successfully tested. The line can produce high-performance collation-shrink films and technical laminating films with an output of up to 800 kg/h, as well as highly specific products such as "pochette du lait" film, agricultural greenhouse film, and industrial (technical) packaging film. Furthermore, thanks to the new gussetting system developed by Colines with precise positioning control through motors and adjustable via encoder, the line can produce stretch-hood and shrink-hood films.
In summary, extreme flexibility and high-level production quality are maintained, while adhering to the distinctive feature of Polyblown lines: extremely low electrical consumption. "This aspect is particularly significant", Sofiplast director concluded, "because maintaining high output levels while ensuring low electrical consumption, and consequently the associated costs, are important factors for the goals of a company."
