Improving efficiency, precision, traceability and quality of plastics processing. These are the goals addressed by the solutions presented by Moretto at Mecspe 2026 (Bologna Fiere, 4-6 March): automation systems capable of turning processors' requirements into competitive advantages.

On show at the fair is the new X Comb 20 which, together with the X Comb 19 model, extends the X Comb dryer range for processing engineering polymers in production runs of up to 60 kg per hour. With an innovative design, the new models draw on all the manufacturing expertise and technology of the X Comb series, guaranteeing unrivalled performance. Their distinctive features remain the use of high-absorption zeolite technology, the exclusive OTX hopper and the variable-flow Hyper Flow turbo blowers, ensuring a consistent process and high energy efficiency within an extremely compact footprint of just 0.6 square metres.

Among the solutions dedicated to dosing, the Massanzago-based manufacturer presents the DGM Gravix 20 gravimetric batch doser which, together with the DGM Gravix 50 model, extends the range of gravimetric batch dosers, ideal for the micro-dosing of plastic materials in production runs of up to 60 kg per hour. Thanks to their high precision, reliability and integration with artificial intelligence, these models aim to set new dosing standards. The innovative functional design of the hoppers ensures a uniform flow of granules and rapid material changeovers. The 7-inch HD colour touch screen provides simplified system management during production changeovers and can store up to 200 recipes.

In the field of granulation, Moretto aims to set new benchmarks with the Hyper Cut high-throughput granulator (up to 1,200 kg per hour), ideal for grinding sprues, purging waste and blow-moulded parts. Its versatility impresses even the most demanding professionals in the injection moulding, extrusion, blow moulding and thermoforming sectors. The rotor's flexible design allows the cutting elements to be adjusted to handle any type of scrap, guaranteeing high performance under all conditions and outstanding results in terms of throughput, regrind quality, low noise impact and complete absence of dust. An ideal balance between power and precision.

Implementing the right storage solution is essential for preserving the physical properties of plastic materials, preventing contamination and ensuring a defect-free finished product. Moretto offers a comprehensive range of solutions that simplify material handling and storage, increasing efficiency and optimising production space. On display at the fair is Oktobag, the system developed by Moretto for the complete emptying of big bags. Through the undulating motion of the oscillating arms – known as the Wave action – plastic granules are directed towards the centre, where a filter probe draws up the very last granule from the bottom of the big bag. The same principle applies to the emptying of octabins: the oscillating arms act on the polyethylene liner placed inside.

Moretto automation systems are also showcased within the “From Plastic to Shape” demonstration unit, where students from CNOS-FAP (Centro Nazionale Opere Salesiane – Vocational Training and Professional Development) will guide visitors through the entire production process of a ruler, manufactured with the support of Moretto auxiliary equipment.
