Brazilian composites
The steady growth of the Brazilian economy in general, reflected in the plastics sector, is also confirmed by the rising trend in consumption of composites. According to the association of local producers, this consumption could reach 210,000 tons by the end of 2010 (versus 183,000 tons in 2009), corresponding to 1.3 billion dollars in revenue.
The main applications for composites are construction products and automotive and wind turbine components, where these materials are already seen as the first choice.
