Texas adventurefor Mossi & Ghisolfi

The Italian chemicals group Mossi & Ghisolfi has announced the acquisition of land near Corpus Christi, Texas. They plan to build a PET production plant producing one million tons per year and a PTA plant with an output of 1.2 million tons. Construction work will employ some 3,000 people and the new facilities will add approximately 250 direct jobs and 700 indirect jobs. PET will be produced using the same technology as in the Suape plant in Brazil. The choice of location is based on the fact that Corpus Christi, situated 200 miles from Houston, is the sixth largest port in the United States, with a strategic position on the Gulf of Mexico for trade with Mexico and Latin America.
