Japanese balance

According to the Association of Japan Plastics Machinery, local production of injection moulding machines in 2010 has reached the 2008 level: about 12,000 units, as opposed to less than 5,000 sold in 2009. However, turnover is lower overall: around 115 billion yen against 150 in 2008 (but better than 65 in 2009).
2010 was characterized by consistently brisk and steady recovery for blow moulding machines, with Japanese manufacturers shipping some 40 units per month, while production of extruders and extrusion lines rebounded only in the second half of the year.
