In 2025 Lati Industria Termoplastica celebrates 80 years in business and is recognised as an Italian Historic Brand of National Interest, certification that rewards production continuity and the historical value of companies representing Made in Italy.
"This recognition is a tribute to the journey we have built over the years, combining innovation, sustainability, and attention to people. We are proud to be part of Italy's industrial history and will continue working towards an even more ambitious future", said Michela Conterno, CEO of Lati.
Founded in 1945 by Cosimo Conterno, Lati anticipated the times with a pioneering vision of circular economy: transforming World War II military leftovers into new resources by recycling materials. An innovative insight that marked the beginning of a long history of research, development, and sustainability.

Lati – an acronym for Lavorazioni articoli tecnici industriali – has always been synonymous of excellence in high-performance thermoplastic compounds based on different ingredients to produce materials with self-extinguishing, thermal conductivity, reinforcing, self-lubricating properties. Materials that find application in devices and components in various fields such as, for example, electrical and electronics (switches that resist short circuits), automotive (components as strong as metal but lighter), and home appliances (highly performing parts for safety and reliability).
Lati's history has gone hand in hand with that of plastics, first and foremost polyamide. The company pioneered the use of FEM simulation and the introduction of glass fibres in polymers. The focus on quality led the company to be one of the first in Italy to be certified UNI EN ISO 9001.
The company has always invested in people, sustainability, and social responsibility. This commitment led to concrete results such as low turnover and an excellent work environment, recognized by the Great Place to Work certification, certified gender equality and female leadership with Michela Conterno, CEO, and her sister Livia Conterno, CEO of Corporate Social Affairs, and EcoVadis Platinum Medal, one of the highest recognition for corporate sustainability practices.
