Forplast joins the GreenDot Group
Following the announcement of its corporate restructuring and new investments to expand its business, GreenDot is increasing both capacity and commercial reach with the addition to the Group of Forplast, a leading Italian producer of compounds based on recycled HDPE for bottle-to-bottle applications and recycled PP. This transaction strengthens GreenDot in the field of mechanical recycling of household plastic packaging waste and in the conversion of recycled materials into plastic packaging.
“We are pleased to welcome Forplast to the GreenDot Group. Together we will be able to broaden our offer of genuine, 100% bottle-to-bottle circular economy solutions for converters and brand owners. The experience Forplast has built up over the years is unique. GreenDot will enable Forplast to fully realise its commercial potential and help expand its market presence. This integration confirms GreenDot’s ambition to take a leading position in the mechanical recycling of plastic packaging in Europe. The transaction also demonstrates the appeal of the GreenDot team for entrepreneurs in the plastic recycling sector at a time of profound transformation in this market,” said Laurent Auguste, CEO of GreenDot.
“We are excited to bring our company into the GreenDot Group. Being part of a larger European family enables us to tackle and successfully meet the challenges facing the European plastics recycling community. Integration into the GreenDot Group gives us access to additional recycled raw materials from plastic waste and allows us to apply our technical know-how across the Group’s activities. Forplast is a well-established Italian company, founded in 1971 by the Villa family, with a long track record in the production of PE compounds and pipes,” added Paolo Aimi, CEO of Forplast.
