India's budget law boosts recycling
One aspect of the Indian 2013-2014 budget law is the inclusion of a series of provisions designed to improve and expand the scope of the country's recycling system through the allocation of special funds. At present, around 2 million tons of plastic materials are recovered and recycled in India, a quarter of which come from a single region: Gujarat.
Over the past five years, India's processing industry has recorded two-digit growth rates and it still offers interesting prospects. This means that its recycling sector should offer good development potential. Chinese manufacturer Zhajiang Boretech, for example, reports that, over the past five years it has delivered 34 complete lines for the recycling of PET bottles.
