Film recycling on the increase in the Usa

According to a recent study conducted by the American Chemistry Council, the body that brings together and represents American chemicals manufacturers, recycling of plastic film increased by 55% in the period 2005-2011, with 2011 recording a 4% increase on the 2010 figure, taking the total to over 450 thousand tons. The recycled materials - recovered mainly from bags, packaging materials, and stretch and shrink film - are used mainly in combination with natural materials such as wood, to produce fences, pens and bridges.
The wood composite materials industry grew by nearly 55 thousand tons in 2011, compared with 2010, absorbing 55% of all recycled film used in the sector. At present, 58% of all reclaimed plastic material is processed and used on the US domestic market.
