Gefran has approved its consolidated results as of 31 March 2025, showing that in the first quarter of the current year the Group recorded revenues of 36.4 million euros, marking a 6.7% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024, when revenues stood at 34.2 million euros.

An analysis of revenues by geographical area, compared with the first quarter of the previous year, reveals solid performance across all business regions, with double-digit growth in Europe (a total increase of +10.6%). Revenues were also up in the Americas (+8.2%), Asia (+5.6%), and in the domestic market (+3.1%).

In terms of business areas, and again compared to figures as of 31 March 2024, revenues from the sensors segment rose by 11.1% across all the geographical areas where the Group operates. Growth in the automation components segment was more moderate, at 1.2%, essentially confirming the trend already observed during the previous financial year.

Order intake compared to the same period in 2024 rose overall by 3.8%, driven by a 6.8% increase in orders for the sensors segment. In contrast, order intake in the automation components segment showed a slight decline compared to the first quarter of the previous year (-1.2%).

Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) as of 31 March 2025 stood at 7.8 million euros (compared to 7.1 million euros in the first quarter of 2024), representing 21.5% of revenues (compared to 20.9% as of 31 March 2024). Higher operating costs recorded during the period partially offset the value generated by increased sales volumes, resulting in a 0.7 million euros increase in Ebitda.

Operating profit (Ebit) as of 31 March 2025 was positive at 5.9 million euros (16.1% of revenues), compared to 5.1 million euros in the first quarter of 2024 (15% of revenues), representing an increase of 0.8 million euros. This change reflects the same dynamics described above for Ebitda.

The group’s net result for the first quarter of 2025 was positive at 4.1 million euros (11.2% of revenues), compared to 3.8 million euros for the same period in the previous year (11.1% of revenues). The 0.3 million euros increase is primarily attributable to the rise in Ebit, partially offset by financial and tax management performance.

“We are very pleased with the results achieved in the first three months of the year; revenues are growing in all geographical areas served by the Group, with Europe posting double-digit growth compared to the first quarter of 2024, and the sensors business returning to growth after a downturn in 2024. The increase in revenues has fully absorbed the rise in costs, resulting in higher profitability than in the previous year,” commented Marcello Perini, CEO of the Gefran Group.
