BMB exhibited its completely electric eKW 10Pi/480 injection machine at Interplastica 2014, which took place in Moscow this past 28-31 January. Characterized by the reduced size of its clamping unit, it is ideal for fast moulding of thin-wall packaging materials. It was displayed in operation at the fair, producing food containers with a capacity of 250 ml and a weight of 8 g using a dual cavity mould developed by the Italian company SCS. The press was equipped with an In-Mould Labelling (IML) unit by Campetella and accessories by Piovan. The main specs for the press include: clamping force, 1,000 kN; max. platen stroke, 450 mm; platen dimensions, 655 x 670 mm; distance between tie bars, 460 x 460 mm; screw diameter, 35 mm (L/D = 29); injection capacity, 190 cubic centimeters.
