Belgian Assembly
At its general meeting on March 23, Federplast (the Belgian Association of Manufacturers of Plastic and Rubber Products) released the results of a survey among its members.
The production volume of the plastics and rubber industry in 2010 experienced a growth of 5.7%. For 2011, 70% of the companies expect further growth.
However, there are concerns that possible rises in raw material prices may threaten this positive outlook. In order to safeguard the industry, energy savings and control of labor costs have been implemented to maintain the competitiveness of the local trade industry.
