Italian manufacturers in São Paulo
The 13th edition of the international biennial show Brasilplast took place in São Paulo fairgrounds Parque Anhembi from May 9 to 13, 2011.
According to the organizer's data, the gross surface area was 80,000 sqm (43,000 sqm occupied by 1,300 exhibitors who attended the event directly or through their local representatives). The fair featured a total of 36 countries, and among them Turkey and Iran for the first time. Compared to 2009, this year's edition was 10,000 sqm larger overall with an additional 3,000 sqm occupied by exhibitors.
While official figures have yet to be released, visitorship was estimated at 65,000.
The collective organized by ICE (Italian Institute for Foreign Trade) and Assocomaplast (Italian Plastics and Rubber Processing Machinery and Moulds Manufacturers' Association) included 44 Italian plastics and rubber machinery manufacturers, as opposed to 36 companies in 2009 on 600 sqm. The Italians represented the largest group after the Chinese, and together with Switzerland, was the only country representing the European machinery manufacturing industry.
