Olympic seats

The UK moulder Certwood has produced the 80,000 seats that have been installed in the centrepiece stadium for the London 2012 Olympic Games using a 900-ton Negri Bossi Vector V900-6700 injection moulding machine equipped with 6-axis robot and gas-assisted injection moulding system. Requiring an investment of about 500,000 pounds, the press features an electric screw drive and variable displacement pump that reduces energy consumption to 0.44 kWh/kg. The screw has a special profile for optimal HIPS and PP plasticizing.
