Thai biopolymers

Thailand-based PTT Chemical Public Co. has paid 150 million dollars to acquire a 50% stake in bioplastics producer NatureWorks LLC.
The American company currently leads world biopolymer production with a capacity of 135 million tons/year. The investment goes to starting a new plant in Thailand with the same production capacity as its counterpart in Blair, Nebraska.
