IMG opens its doors to injection moulding
On July 4-5 and on July 11-13, IMG organizes two open houses at its headquarters in Capriano del Colle (near Brescia, Italy).
The first of these events will be devoted to machines for the injection moulding of plastic materials. Visitors will be able to see the new power-assisted Mars II range in operation. The Mars II, produced by Chinese manufacturer Haitian (and distributed in Italy by IMG), replaces Mars I, of which eighty-five thousand units were sold worldwide. The Venus and Venus Packaging series by Zhafir (Haitian's German daughter company) will also be displayed in operation. These fully electric machines, with a clamping force up to 5,500 kN, are assembled and proofed in Germany. The parts are manufactured in China. The R&D is a teamwork between German and Chinese engineers.
A brief symposium on plastic materials and the parameterisation of injection moulding will be also organised by IMG to coincide with this two-day event, which will also see the presentation of "white certificates", which, of course, represent a financial opportunity for businesses.
At the other event (July 11-13) the spotlight will instead fall on the REM and GUM machines, produced directly by IMG for the injection moulding of elastomers. One electrically driven 300-ton REM with toggle-joint closure and reciprocating screw will be in operation along with five GUMs: the latter will include one 200-ton vertical press with rotary table and temperature-controlled platen; three 300-ton horizontal presses - one with toggle-joint closure and reciprocating screw; one with "hydroblock" closure, screw + plunger and high energy-saving servopump; and one featuring a FIFO injection system, servopump and magnetic platens - and one 300-ton vertical press with screw + plunger and temperature-controlled platen with 6 + 1 nozzles.
On two of the three days, there will also be a brief symposium entitled "Moulding problems:research, solutions and interventions".
