US robots: still good in the first half of the year
After a first quarter in clear progress, figures for the first half year 2013 confirm the good trend of the North American robot industry (for all applications within the manufacturing sector).
In fact, according to Robotic Industries Association, in the period January-June this year manufacturers collected orders for a value of approximately 680 million dollars (corresponding to 10,854 units), or 1.9% more than the same period 2012 and 1.3% more than the overall record of 2005.
As far as sales are concerned, again in the first half of 2013, a value of 715 million dollars was reached, with a 10.4% increase over 2012, with over 11,300 units sold. When it comes to application sectors, the car industry is slowing down, while other segments are recording a more dynamic trend.
