Persico expands from West to East

The Italian manufacturer of fully automated rotational moulding machines has just founded Persico USA. To meet the need of the local converters, the company, headquertered in Nembro, near Bergamo (Italy), has acquired Autoplas Systems, a manufacturer of machines and equipment for the automotive industry based in Detroit.
"We are working on more and more projects worldwide, requiring sites close to our customers. We will continue to manufacture the American company's existing products. Additionally we will start the production of our own products, initially for the automotive sector, but subsequently for other industries, as needed by the customers of our other divisions", stated Alessandra Persico, managing director of Persico Automotive.
The Italian manufacturer has also expanded in China, acquiring the mould making division of EPL, with production facilities near Ningbo, and creating Persico Asia. The acquired division has been engaged in the design and manufacture of moulds for SMC and injection moulding since 2006. Persico Asia will produce also other types of moulding tools, including prefixing and edge-folding, currently manufactured by the company in Italy.
At the coming K 2013, Persico (hall 15, stand A38) will introduce the new Smart range of rotational moulding machines. This was developed by combining conventional rotational technology with the Leonardo system, also developed by Persico, obtaining not expensive machines characterized by electrically heated moulds and a high level of automation.
