TPE: more freedom in design and function
Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) are indispensable in many application sectors. Compounds of the TPE specialist Kraiburg TPE are used in different applications as engine block logo panels, tool handles, pump dispensers for hair dye or as seals for infusion bags. The excellent properties and high quality of its compounds enable unlimited possibilities in terms of design and function. At the hall 6, stand C58-1 visitors will find exactly these fields of application: automotive, industry, consumer and medical. Based on fascinating applications from these sectors, a competent team of TPE specialists will inform visitors about the comprehensive product range of custom-engineered TPE. For example, Kraiburg TPE offers a wide range of TPE compounds for automotive manufacturing that can be processed easily and efficiently in the injection moulding process. Examples of applications are water collecting strips, seals in the area of roof racks and antenna and window encapsulations. For these applications there are product solutions with adhesion to polypropylene or polar thermoplastics like PC, ASA or PMMA.The automotive portfolio "Exterior" also contains compounds with different viscosities. The company has developed and optimized UV-resistant materials for various areas of application. TPEs with improved UV-resistance are distributed under the names Thermolast K and A. Individual series for exterior differ in temperature resistance, processing and adhesion.Thermoplastic elastomers from Kraiburg TPE are also used in trend-setting bio-waste disposal containers. Biologic chose Thermolast K as the material to provide a tight seal for its bio-waste filter cover (see photo). Due to its flexibility and weather-resistance, this material is especially well-suited for outdoor areas and maintains a tight seal even under large temperature fluctuations. In addition to its global activities, the company will also present the next steps to be taken with respect to expansion of the international network and the German plant.Since the last K trade fair in 2010 the company has not only continued to develop its innovative product portfolio, but has also increased its focus on global growth and the establishment and development of production and sales branches, especially in the growth markets Asia Pacific and South America. The warehouse and production capacities at the plant in Waldkraiburg, Germany are also currently under expansion.
