The Brush District: a strategy for innovation
The K 2013 exhibition was an important opportunity for Italy's Brush District to spread the word about its products in the world of plastics and rubber and to strengthen the partnership between two of its members: Techno Plastic and Borghi. Indeed these two firms even shared the same stand at the event, each making its own contribution in terms of technological innovation.
Borghi showcased its automatic Star R32 drill/fill machine and demonstrated it in action. With three working stations and three pantographs, used in the production of every kind of brush and broom, this machine is capable of producing items with parallel and radial tufts as well as combinations of both.
Meanwhile Techno Plastic brought its electronic strap winding machine to the event. This is designed to wind every kind of strap in PET and PP beginning with widths of 4mm up to 32mm. This machine will wind straps/bobbins in every size currently available on the market thanks to its ability to compensate for down times during winding and a straight winding action which is owed to independent acceleration ramps in the packaging area. The stand also offered an info-dvd presentation of the history of the two companies which emphasised some of the more important contributions Borghi (founded in 1948) and Techno Plastic (1999) made to their respective sectors up to the moment in 2012 when Brush District was first formed.
During a post-fair follow up the presidents of the two companies - Davide Ori (Techno Plastic) and Enzo Rerrari (Borghi), were happy to share their overview of the experience. According to Davide Ori there was a positive feel in the air: The company felt there was a new and different optimism about the recession. There was, indeed, the determination to continue, to invest and the innovate on the part of both manufacturers and customers. Enzo Ferrari underlined the larger number of companies taking part, both as exhibitors and visitors, and above all the increase in the number of industry operators from all over the world, confirming that the company will definitely be taking part in the next event.
Being at the K show in Dusseldorf proved to be a unique opportunity to get a front row seat at the unveiling of the latest products in the sector and also to observe one of the most important markets in the world as it continues to develop and change. The keys to success are partnership and cutting edge technology, concepts that Techno Plastic and Borghi have based their strategy for achieving their target goals on and which sum up everything that Brush District has created at its headquarters in Castelfranco Emilia, near Modena (Italy).
