For Milan Design Week 2025, SSS’AA, the acronym for Scuola Specializzata Superiore d’Arte Applicata, in collaboration with the second-year students of the product design course, is showcasing innovative modular furniture at the Rossana Orlandi Gallery in Milan. These pieces are the result of an educational project carried out in partnership with Lati Industria Termoplastici and Gimac, two companies active in the production and construction of machines for processing technopolymers.

The project was conceived with the goal of exploring the potential of thermoplastic polymers for both indoor and outdoor furniture, through an innovative large-scale 3D printing process. The students worked on creating modular components capable of adapting to different residential and urban environments, focusing on functionality, versatility, and sustainability. The result is dynamic, transformable, and fully recyclable furniture, designed for an ever-evolving style.

Among the products on display are Hive, Rivia, and Nebula, three modular furniture systems that combine aesthetics and practicality. Hive (pictured), with its hexagonal modular concept, allows the creation of seating, shelving, and surfaces in flexible compositions. Rivia is based on curved elements that, thanks to intelligent interlocking, transform into benches, tables, and innovative storage solutions. Nebula is a versatile and transformable chaise longue, designed to offer maximum comfort and functionality. Its elegant and lightweight design combines relaxation with practicality, adapting harmoniously to any space.
