US PVC weak in Italy

In Italy, a trader reported that their US PVC supplier has revised the offers down to Italy slightly to 820-830 euro/ton from their initial offers at 850 euro/ton for cargoes to be delivered in April. On the contrary, offers from the US are under upward pressure as a result of the recent rise in national VCM prices which are up by 150 dollars/ton since the start of the month, as well as the price hikes of 110 dollars/ton announced in the local US PVC market for April.
Despite this, the Italian trader reported that they have had to revise their offers down by 20-30 euro/ton to 820-830 euro/ton to be in line with the general market level and regain competitiveness. However, there are still offers below 800 euro/ton in the spot market and the US cargoes with a 1-month delivery period are still failing to attract interest. The trader's offers at 820-830 euro/ton approximately correspond to 1,000-1,015 dollars/ton, 90 days, subject to 6.5% duty basis, after deducting inland freight back to the port and customs duty.
