Small and fast blow moulding machine at Arabplast

At Arabplast 2013 (Dubai, January 7-10), Magic MP exhibited its full electric ME-100/D blow moulding machine in operation, supported by two of its long-term Italian partners in setting up a high-performance work island: Piovan, for the dosing, feeding and refrigeration system, and Crizaf for the finished-products conveyor belts. The machine was outfitted with 20-litre mould in PMMA developed by FHW-Moulds to present a new cooling technique controlled by a Siemens Microbox PLC that makes it possible to significantly reduce cycle times.
This blow moulding machine is the smallest version in its line and produces bottles with volumes of up to 100 ml for sectors such as cosmetics and pharmaceuticals/medicines. With a 50 mm dia. extruder (L/D = 24), three-way PETG extrusion head, dual carriage with mould sets for a total of 3 + 3 cavities and an hourly output of over 3,000 pieces, at the fair the machine produced 15-ml mascara tubes weighing 3.8 g with a cycle time of 7 seconds and energy consumption of approximately 4 kW. These characteristics and performance parameters make this machine the ideal solution not only for the above-mentioned applications, but also, given the total absence of oil, for use in clean rooms.
