Recovery also for the German machinery manufacturers

According to a note released in these days by the German association VDMA, there is a "significant" recovery for the national plastics and rubber machinery industry. As a matter of fact, on the basis of the latest survey carried out by the association among its members, the last quarter of 2009 closed with orders up by a nominal 35% with respect to the same period of 2008 and the trend remained positive also in January and February 2010. The rise in last quarter of 2009 partially attenuated the decline for the entire year, determining a 28% average fall.
Positive signals came from countries outside Europe whilst orders from the domestic market and the euro area were still weak. Expectations for the current year, at least the first half, are further improving and are positive in all sectors, both in terms of orders and sales.
