One press, two moulds
The eKW Stack Hybrid high performance injection moulding machines developed by BMB can use two different moulds on a single clamping unit. The injection unit is positioned perpendicular to the clamp and injects the material into the intermediate platen, thus feeding both the first and the second mould. The intermediate platen is driven by two electric motors and moves completely independently from the movable one, thus giving the machine a great deal of operational flexibility, making it possible to install two moulds with different opening clearances. This means that the machine is able to equal or exceed the production output of two conventional presses, since two products can be obtained with the same cycle time but with lower production costs.
