Andrea Rigliano joins Union
With over thirty years of experience in the plastics industry, Andrea Rigliano (in the picture) was recently appointed Global Sales Manager of Union, a manufacturer of extrusion systems marketed under the Union, Tecom and Ceba brands, and part of the new Mech-I-Tronic mechatronics hub. In his new role, Rigliano is working closely with Ferdinando Passoni, CEO of Union and Managing Director of Mech-I-Tronic.
In expressing his enthusiasm for joining Union, Andrea Rigliano recognised that manufacturing excellence is rigorously applied throughout the group, describing the environment not only as a simple mechanical workshop, but rather as an operating room with staff highly dedicated to customer satisfaction. He also highlighted Union’s advanced research and development activities aimed at anticipating future technologies.
Ferdinando Passoni, for his part, considers the ability to create opportunities along with competence, experience and seriousness to be the distinctive characteristics of his team. Andrea Rigliano was called upon to take on a demanding challenge, but Union's CEO is confident that significant goals will be achieved, in the face of a 2024 that began with a record order backlog and a number of high-profile projects.
In fact, the year that has just begun will be characterised by initiatives aimed at strengthening the group's competitiveness at an international level. Among these, the Extrusion Life Run project aimed at enhancing the efficiency of equipment in order to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), the digitalisation of processes and the adoption of the "zero problems" approach to sustainability. All this will be implemented through access to the "Total Union Customer Care" portal, which aims to define new standards for after-sales support operations. On-site Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities will be performed both remotely and at the customers' sites relying on staff with a problem-solving approach to processes.
Andrea Rigliano joins Union from Syncro Group, where he held the roles of Chief Sales Officer (CSO) and Greenology Manager. Previously, after a brief period as a consultant, he had worked with important manufacturers of extrusion plants such as Bandera, Amut, Soffiaggio Tecnica, WM and Koch-Glitsch USA.
