Haidlmair wins for the second time

The competition “Excellence in Production” is organised each year by the WZL Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering at RWTH Aachen and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT. A top-class and independent jury selects the best mould- and toolmaking companies from the German-speaking countries. This year 292 companies took part in the prestigious competition and 14 of these made it to the final after an in-depth analysis of the two institutes.

The winners in four categories (internal tool & die making below and above 50 employees and external tool & die making below and above 50 employees) were honoured at a gala event in front of approx. 300 guests in the coronation hall of the city hall of Aachen.

Haidlmair already won the prestigious competition back in 2006 (category external tool & die making above 50 employees) and finished second in the final in 2013. 2017 Haidlmair had its big moment once again. The mould-maker from Nussbach won in the final against 3 top companies and may now call itself “Mould-maker of the year 2017” (category external tool & die making above 50 employees). A big success for the family company from Austria. CEO Mario Haidlmair is extremely pleased about this award: “This is a very big thing for us and we are really happy because the competition is the only one which determines with objective criteria which companies are the best. The credit for this success goes to my employees because without them we could not guarantee the high quality of our products”.

An important factor in the decision of the jury was the innovative spirit of Haidlmair and the investments of the past years in many parts of the company besides the outstanding products, the high competence of the employees and the modern machinery. However, there is no intention to rest on the laurels at Haidlmair: “We have a lot of new projects and ideas in the pipeline and we want to constantly develop ourselves even further”, as Mario Haidlmair underlines.
