Reinforced membranes - An extrusion line recently supplied by Amut to the Russian company Technonicol has been destined for the production (3,500 kg/h) of waterproofing multilayer membranes, with and without inner reinforcement, for civil applications such as tunnels, roofing systems, water basins etc. The membranes, with net width of 2,050 mm and thickness ranging from 0.5 to 3 mm, can be reinforced with PET or PP scrims and glass fibre. A 3-layer configuration has been preferred, with high performance material formulation concentrated in the surface ply in order to comply with different requirements of customized products that are directly depending on application, where reliable service for decades, low migration of plasticizers, UV-ray absorption, aesthetic purpose etc. are required. When comparing performance in the most technical solutions, this plant can reduce production cost by 5-10%.
