CEN/TC 145 activity program

Technical Committee TC 145 (which deals with the standardization of safety requirements for plastics and rubber machines within European Committee for Standardization CEN), of which Assocomaplast has owned and managed chairmanship and secretariat for years, on the occasion of last plenary meeting, held on December 17, 2009, approved the activity program for next years. The majority of TC 145 standards should be technically revised considering that they have already been confirmed once (after five years from the publication); the new Machinery Directive has come into force at the end of December 2009; some type A and B standards have been modified. However, as for 2010 the following activities have already been scheduled the revision of EN 289 (compression presses), EN 1417 (two roll mills), and EN 13418 (winding machines for film or sheet), and the study of a new standard on the safety requirements for tire curing presses, TC 145 has fixed a preliminary activity program for next years.
