The PN Prg impulse bag-sealer developed by Cibra Nova is equipped with a state-of-the-art control system that allows the operator to set precise parameters for the sealing cycle, and guarantees they will be repeated constantly. In fact, there are some types of packaging on which the operator cannot risk a faulty seal. A 15-20 kg plastic bag or multi-layer bag full of chemical, pharmaceutical, or food products often has a very high value, and the seal on it has to be perfect. Whether the operator needs to seal just a few bags or large numbers, high standards must be maintained, regardless of which operator happens to be working on the line.
A display with 8 lines of 21 bits each allows ready access to the main functions. An user-friendly menu allows access to additional control parameters. Sealing parameters are set as follows: time in seconds; temperature on Celsius or Fahrenheit scale; cooling temperature of the seal in seconds, in reference to a Celsius or Fahrenheit temperature setting, or as a percentage of the sealing temperature (both these options can help save time). The system will store up to five sealing "recipes" and the screen shows which program is operating. The screen also transmits an alarm signal via a key that will take the operator to a list of possible problems. Other functions available via menus and sub-menus allow the operator to protect the settings with three levels of access; set and view a stroke counter; set and view a clock; view a system stroke counter that cannot be modified. The sealing bands can be 4, 6 or 8 mm wide. The sealing cycle can be started using the pedal or double pushbutton, as well as via a key on the control display. The control system has a RS232 interface to log all data.
Sealing width can be 60 cm, 80 cm or 100 cm. The basic desktop sealer can be fitted on a vertical support complete with wheel that moves the sealing head up and down. This makes the PN Prg sealers quite suitable for sealing bags placed into bins or boxes. The body of the machine is made of stainless steel and is therefore suitable for use in clean rooms and protected environments.
