The new digital positioning sensor of the SMC Italia ISA3 series makes measuring the gap between the surface and the tool easy thanks to a simple three-stage configuration procedure, which reduces the confirmation time for correct positioning, delivering savings in operating costs, labour, and energy.
Simple to mount because of the addition of a centralized lead wire, installation space has been reduced to 30 mm, while wiring is done without the help of tools with a M12 connector. The control unit, with supply port on both sides, comprises of an AR-B series regulator, a square embedded type pressure gauge and VX 2 port solenoid valve.
The ISA3 is fitted with two digital screens that display all the information being monitored, reducing the workpiece placement confirmation time, and through which it is possible, in just three stages, to carry out the setting procedure. Maintenance is also made easier as a result of greater oil resistance, and the presence of sensors in a much larger, single opening, limiting the risk of occlusion.
The new detection principle of measuring without air being exhausted from the product practically eliminates noise and reduces air consumption by 60%, optimizing efficiency in terms of energy and environmental sustainability. Operating safety is, lastly, ensured by the introduction of the keylock function, which prevents accidental modification of the settings.
The ISA3 series is ideal for different applications including component processing, controlling placement when installing components, verifying a product's conformity, quality control, product inspection, and so on.
