The Saudi company Bitumat contributed to the waterproofing works of the new Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center. The works are taking place with two waterproofing interventions: the basement was completed in 2020, the roof began in June 2021. In the first case, Bitumat Premierflex 2000 and Bituprotect membranes, both 4-mm thick, were used on surfaces of 230,000 and 30,000 sqm respectively, in the second case the PVC membrane Bitumat Polymet Roof UV-R 2.0 FB is used on an area of 150,000 sqm.
Bitumat produces a wide range of membranes with technical properties to suit different applications and ensure long-term protection. Since 2010 it has been using Amut extrusion lines, which has supplied the company with several machines, the last of which is a complete line for the extrusion of 3-layer waterproofing membrane in PVC and TPO, installed in the Dammam production complex.
The lines for the extrusion of waterproofing membranes of the Italian manufacturer can process different thermoplastic materials (F/PVC, TPO, TPE) giving the product the physical and technical characteristics necessary to comply with the international standards of the civil sector. The flexibility of the technology developed by Amut for these applications allows not only to process multiple materials with the same line, but also to create multilayer waterproofing membranes, with or without reinforcement, and lamination of a support base in a single production phase.
"We are honored to work with a valuable customer like Bitumat and we express our deepest appreciation for the outstanding achievement. Our close business relationship is based on solid cooperation where mutual trust is the key word. We are always committed to being a reliable partner alongside our customers, ready to meet and even exceed their expectations ", said Giovanni Cattaneo, Amut Sales Director.
