There will be a great deal of interest in new plastics from renewable resources at PLAST 2012 (Fiera Milano, 8-12 May). Conferences will focus on the topic and there will also be presentations at the stands of individual exhibitors. One of these is the Belgian group Roquette, which will present its Gaïalene line of plant-based plastics at its stand (Hall 11, Stand D44). These materials replace their counterparts based on fossil resources and can be processed using traditional technologies (extrusion, injection, blow-moulding etc.) or used in compounds.
