The biennial Taipei International Plastics and Rubber Industry Show (Taipei Plas), cosponsored by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (Taitra) and the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (Tami), will be held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, on September 9-13, 2020.

The event will focus on three themes: Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing and circular economy plus new industrial applications integrating packaging and printing equipment, thus demonstrating the strength of the supply chain in Taiwan's plastic and rubber industry. In addition, various peripheral events such as one-on-one procurement meetings, summit and technical seminars will be arranged to create a comprehensive display and marketing platform.

Taiwan was the sixth largest exporter of rubber and plastic machinery in the world, with an export value of 1.17 billion dollars in 2018. Taipei Plas also ranks among the top three plastics and rubber trade shows in Asia and surely the number one show of its kind in Taiwan. In 2020, Plas is expected to be attended by 550 exhibitors using 2,700 booths, including such famous domestic machinery makers. In addition, more than 100 foreign exhibitors from more than 20 countries will join the event. The scale is expected to reach a new record. Taipei Plas will also debut the circular economy as one of its main themes this year, so as to encourage exhibitors to showcase their low-pollution equipment and smart machinery and new production technologies, which help not only reduce waste and energy consumption but also improve manufacturing efficiency and the quality of recycled raw materials. It is hoped that the industry may always balance manufacturing with sustainability and create new business opportunities.
