Versatile and precise eight-colour flexographic printing
The latest addition to BFM range of stack type flexographic printing machines is the Sirio S Plus model, recently presented at an open house event organised by the company and to be exhibited at the next edition of the Print4All fair, scheduled at Fiera Milano from May 3 to 6 as part of The Innovation Alliance, which also includes the Greenplast, Ipack-Ima and Intralogistica Italia trade shows.
A characteristic of the new model are, in particular, the innovations in the field of energy saving and water-based printing inks. In conjunction with the fair, the new machine will also be exhibited live at BFM site in various printing demonstrations.
Sirio S Plus is a stack type machine designed for high-performance eight-colour flexographic printing on items destined for different application sectors, such as flexible packaging for food, clothing, pharmaceuticals, etc. Particularly versatile, it can print different flexible plastics (HDPE, LDPE, PP, PET) bio-based materials, as well as paper.
During the Print4All fair, all the technological innovations incorporated into the machine will be illustrated, including high printing quality, efficiency and productivity thanks to easy and accurate job changes, wide flexibility of use thanks to the ability to process polymers of different types, as well as compact and modern layout and design solutions. Like all BFM machines, the Sirio S Plus model can also be integrated in a network and makes it possible to take advantage of the benefits and resources allocated under Italy’s Industry 4.0 plan for the digital transition of industrial companies.
For the live demonstrations, the machine will be equipped with an unwinder with hydraulic loader accommodating reels with a maximum diameter of up to 1,000 mm. In alternative, a turret type system can be installed. The machine will also be equipped with a dual head oscillating belt guide system, for perfect edge alignment before entering the printing units, where each counter roller is controlled by an independent servomotor. The printing units include cliché and anilox holder sleeves, both replaceable directly in the machine thanks to a cantilever system that supports the pneumatic spindles.
Sirio S Plus is also equipped with Easygear system and automatic print pre-setting, which completes the job change functions in total safety. Among the many innovations it is also worth mentioning the new simple and intuitive 22-inch graphic interface for the management of all the machine functions.
