Saving energy with a frequency converter

Regloplas, a manufacturer of temperature controllers that are distributed in Italy by Sverital, which presented them at Plast 2015, has come up with a solution that drastically cuts energy consumption levels.

Nowadays, practically all injection moulding machines are equipped with one or more temperature controllers. Management of the temperature of the mould, but also of the moulded parts, is essential for defect-free production.

The difference in temperature that is measured between the time of entry and the time of exit of the temperature control medium depends on the efficiency of the pump and, therefore, also on the pressure and flow rate generated. The flow rate of temperature controllers was once dependent solely on the choice of pump. A variation in the frequency, on the other hand, leads to a change in the pump speed.
