PUR foaming: high pressure, low price
The new EcoPlus machines are offered by Impianti OMS as a particularly convenient high-pressure PUR foaming solution for small converters and users of low-pressure machines. These solutions are space-saving, reliable, easy to use and maintain, environmentally friendly and low-cost, and cover process capacities ranging from 6 to 180 litres per minute (with a 1:1 or a 2:1 ratio).
Each of the two metering units feeding the mixing head is equipped with a fixed displacement rotating axial piston pump, as well as with a horizontal pump coupled with an inverter-controlled three-phase motor. Both units also feature a double gasket seal, provided with a dedicated lubrication circuit, a cartridge filter at the metering pump suction side, a pressure relief valve, a double-contact digital pressure switch on the metering pump delivery side, for controlling the metering pressure, and a single-contact digital pressure switch, for controlling the feeding pressure at the metering pump suction side.
The two 100-litre vertical single-wall cylindrical tanks, adequately insulated and PED-certified, are provided with a removable flanged cover, a low-speed agitator driven by a gearmotor, a pressurization system complete with a regulating valve and a control pressure gauge, and a pressure relief valve. The temperature of each component can be adjusted directly inside the corresponding tank by means of a system including heating electrical resistors, installed in the tank’s wall, a cooling water control solenoid valve at the tank’s wall inlet, and a PT100 temperature control probe connected to the PLC.
The ECOMix Y2K self-cleaning high-pressure counterflow mixing head is equipped with a standard1.9 metre support arm, featuring a working range of 120° and a vertical stroke up to 500 mm, as well as with a separation system for all the parts in contact with the hydraulic circuit and the polyurethane (in order to avoid possible contaminations). In case of accidental voltage drops, the hydraulic system only closes the mixing piston, thus preventing wrong sequences from being started and components lines from being damaged. Moreover, the head comes complete with a proximity device (one per piston), variable pressure injectors, a hydraulic proportional solenoid valve and a hydraulic control unit.
