Italian preview of a new 3D printer "made by HP"

Participating for the first time in the Mecspe fair in Parma (from 23 to 25 March), the multinational HP has just publicly unveiled its very latest HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer and its Processing Station with Fast Cooling system. This is a solution that, thanks to the innovative MultiJet Fusion technology, allows rapid modification of the prototyping and production of the final parts. The system’s revolutionary 3D printing process, which, according to the manufacturer, will allow up to ten times faster output rates than those obtained with previous technologies, together with the use of an open platform for the materials and the dedicated software will, together, cut printing costs by half, thereby helping companies to penetrate, even more competitively, the Industry 4.0 environment.

During the Mecspe fair, HP announced its collaboration with Selltek, Nuovamacut and 3DZ which, having passed all the certification processes and been found to meet all the requirements for the HP 3D print services, have become the first partners licensed by HP to market its 3D printing solutions throughout Italy: Selltek has been active as a rapid prototyping service in the additive manufacturing sector since 1999 and is now a leading name in the sale of technologies for professional 3D printing; meanwhile, Nuovamacut, which is the first Solidworks service, training and consulting centre in Italy, is one of the top 10 global partners of Dassault Systèmes and offers CAD, CAM and PLM solutions for the management of various processes: product design and development, configuration, simulation, testing and production; finally, 3DZ is a company entirely devoted to 3D printing and solutions for the industrial sector. It is well represented throughout Italy, having seven distribution centres in different strategic locations in the country.

“By coming to Mecspe and revealing the names of the first companies that will be marketing our 3D printing solutions in Italy, we have shown that we are committed to additive manufacturing, a growing sector that already represents a keystone for the success of Industry 4.0,” remarked Tino Canegrati, CEO of HP Italy. “Our 3D printing solutions are helping companies to achieve good results, not least because they can be integrated perfectly into the new interconnected manufacturing facility, where cutting-edge instruments like HP Sprout, which we also brought along to Parma, and the synergy with immersive computing technologies are allowing professionals to move seamlessly from the technical drawing, derived from data processing, to tailored and high-quality additive manufacturing.”

The HP Jet Fusion 3D 4200 printer is part of a whole family of products and solutions designed to foster innovation, bring economic advantages and allow more rapid development of 3D printing materials and applications. Furthermore, during the recent meeting of the Additive Manufacturing Users Group (AMUG), HP announced important innovations concerning their "Open Platform" for 3D printing materials and the development of applications ready for production. In particular, the existence of a single model of the HP Open Platform for 3D printing is allowing the company to expand the availability of new polymers and increase the range of possible applications, thereby reducing the costs of materials and material development, speeding up processes, improving performance levels, and creating new possibilities for the production of components offering characteristics able to meet the specific needs of the different sectors.
