Oima to market LS Mtron presses in Italy
The Italian injection moulding machine manufacturer Oima, which in recent years has focused its production on the market for special and custom-built machines, has recently entered into a collaboration agreement with the Korean manufacturer LS Mtron to market its electric and two-platen hydraulic presses.
At present, the electric presses are available with clamping forces ranging from 30 to 850 tonnes, but the range may soon be extended up to 1,300 tonnes. The two-platen hydraulic presses, on the other hand, are available in models covering the segment from 450 to 3,300 tonnes. The agreement will enable Oima to broaden its portfolio with technologically advanced machines designed to create innovative, efficient, and sustainable production departments.
LS Mtron employs over 25,000 people and records an annual turnover exceeding 30 billion dollars, with profits of around one billion dollars. Its LS IMM division, dedicated to injection moulding machines, was founded in 1969 by the South Korean technology giant LG Corporation, now one of the world’s largest producers of electronic equipment and household appliances. Initially created to produce injection-moulded components for its televisions, home appliances, and electronic devices, LS IMM today manufactures around 3,000 machines per year.
LS Mtron developed its first fully electric injection moulding machine in 2003 and is therefore a partner of unquestionable experience for Oima, with over two decades of presence in the injection moulding machine market, particularly in large electric and hydraulic models. After a long and thorough evaluation, the Veneto company concluded that the technical level and the quality-to-price ratio of LS Mtron’s products represented an opportunity not to be missed. Likewise, LS Mtron chose Oima after testing and verifying its organisation, expertise, and potential.
