Energy efficiency and intelligent automation: Fanuc launches the new Roboshot SC machines
At Plast 2026, Fanuc will present a technology offering centred on the new Roboshot SC series of injection moulding machines. The company will showcase a fully integrated production cell designed to meet the requirements for precision, energy efficiency and operational flexibility that characterise today’s market.
The Roboshot SC series represents the most advanced evolution of Fanuc’s range of electric injection moulding machines. Its all-electric architecture, combined with a high-resolution servo-drive control system, enables a significant reduction in energy consumption compared with conventional hydraulic solutions, while ensuring superior process repeatability and more accurate control of moulding variables such as pressure, speed and dosing, even when processing technical materials with highly complex rheological behaviour. The result is a tangible operational advantage for converters: lower operating costs, reduced production scrap, improved surface quality of the finished part and greater long-term process stability.
“Native integration between the injection moulding machine and the robot lies at the heart of our production philosophy”, says Cristian Bosi, Managing Director of Fanuc Italia. “By applying the Industry 5.0 paradigm to plastics moulding, our aim is to eliminate latency, synchronise every stage of the cycle and free the operator from the need to manage separate systems”.
At Plast 2026, Fanuc will demonstrate an automated moulding cell integrating the Roboshot SC machine with a Fanuc industrial robot dedicated to part extraction and handling, and a CRX collaborative robot equipped with a Flexibowl feeder for the management of bulk components. The cell will also include an in-line quality control station, providing a complete and realistic view of automated production. Native synchronisation between the injection moulding machine and the robots, ensured by Fanuc’s common control platform, optimises cycle times, eliminates interference between process stages and simplifies production management, including in environments characterised by high variability in products or batches.
Thanks to their bidirectional interconnection functions, process data acquisition capabilities and integration with MES/ERP systems, Roboshot machines meet the technical requirements for access to incentives dedicated to investments in technologically advanced capital goods under national digital and industrial transition policies.
