Improving quality to reduce waste
The new developments by the Syncro Group (exhibited at Plast 2015 too) included, first of all, its most recent innovations in the field of automatic rings: Typhoon and Flyer 2.0. These are systems designed to significantly reduce production waste and reduce initial thickness variation (estimated to be 2-Sigma) by up to 80% thanks to dual technology for regulating flow and the air temperature. In particular, Flyer 2.0 increases and improves the quality and hourly output of bubble film.
The company also presented its new non-contact capacitive gauging system, Skymex, which features a (patented) tangential telescopic beam movement and allows a wider range between minimum and maximum BUR values. Instead, in order to provide unprecedented performances, and to cater for all types of film in a wide range of weights/metre, thicknesses, materials and colours, it presented the rayXscan gauging system, equipped with B&R PLC, which does not need specific licences as it uses a source with a capacity of less than 5 kWe.
The other new developments at the fair included the automatic rewinder Ecosy Pre-Stretch, developed for the production of reels of pre-stretched film suitable for manual or automatic use. It can produce rolls of various sizes and provide 0% to 350% elongation.
Various new developments were unveiled by the group’s other companies, too. Plasmac presented its Omega 80 recycling system, designed to process a wide range of waste material. In operation at the fair, alongside Omega 80, was the Alpha 45, a machine designed to recover bubble film waste and trimmings. Plasmac’s machines stand out for their excellent energy efficiency and reduced heating of the material processed.
Blowntec presented the latest bubble guide cage belonging to the MK series. The focus in developing this product was on ensuring bubble control during the process of blown film extrusion by means of a regular movement of the flexible polygon, which ensures perfect radial alignment of the bubble guide elements.
Definitive International, finally, presented a metering device for powder materials that is part of the DSG series. It features a high throughput of additives at a production rate of 350-2000 g/hour. The DSG series is built in accordance with ANSI 304 SS and features a twin rotary wormscrew and brushless design, which guarantees high metering precision at a low hourly production rate. The machine has two motors, one for the feeding unit and the other for the bridge homogeniser. The company also unveiled a new line of bag emptying machines.
Finally, the Milan fair provided an opportunity to present a new collaboration agreement between Syncro and Sirt, which for 50 years has been active as an agent and sole distributor of machines and materials for various prestigious companies around the world.
