Varied exhibition offering from BG Plast at K 2025
BG Plast will be exhibiting at K 2025 with a broad portfolio showcasing its latest developments and most recent innovations: the patented Sagec system; the new 4500 calender; lines for geomembranes; and next-generation solutions for extrusion coating. Different technologies, but all inspired by the same design philosophy: to provide equipment distinguished by precision, versatility and sustainability, capable of transforming thermoplastic materials into value.
Sagec is an innovative patented system that introduces a new paradigm in the extrusion of multi-layer bubble panels in thermoplastic materials in a single pass, thanks to a calendering system developed in-house by BG Plast. The inner layer features a three-dimensional structure that provides lightness and superior mechanical strength, both in the machine direction (MD) and cross direction (CD). Panels produced with Sagec technology stand out for: light weight, which simplifies handling and logistics; high mechanical resistance to bending and compression; impermeability to water and moisture, making them suitable for outdoor or demanding environments; thermo-acoustic insulation properties for construction and industrial applications; recyclability, in line with sustainability principles; ease of lamination for coupling with pre-printed films, fabrics or carpets. The Sagec technology offers a production capacity of up to 1,000 kg per hour and enables the manufacture of panels with thicknesses from 4 to 12 mm and widths up to 2,050 mm.
The 4500 calender for the production of special sheets (T-Grip and V-Stud) and geomembranes is equipped with 4,500 mm-wide rolls and has been designed to ensure uniformity, control and surface quality even on exceptionally large sheets intended for sectors requiring strength, aesthetics and high performance. Each roll is fitted with an independent drive and separate temperature control system, able to maintain consistent temperatures throughout the process. Electromechanical opening and closing control guarantees maximum thickness accuracy, with values ranging from 1 to 40 mm. The 4,500 mm calender can process a wide range of polymers and is compatible with multi-layer configurations.
For the extrusion and calendering of geomembranes in HDPE, LDPE and PP – smooth or textured, and also laminated with geotextile materials – BG Plast has developed lines that stand out for their high level of customisation. They achieve outputs of up to 1,500 kg per hour without compromising product quality, with usable widths of up to 8,000 mm, which translates into fewer field welds and greater installation efficiency. Thicknesses range from 1 to 3 mm, uniform across the entire surface, and can also be produced in multi-layer co-extrusion, including with different polyolefin formulations.
For extrusion coating, the company has recently built a 3,200 mm line for the production of waterproofing films, usable as moisture barriers, roofing membranes, protective layers and more, and which can be wound into large-format rolls. It allows the extrusion of PE, TPU, EVA, PP, TPO and TPV, as well as lamination with non-woven fabrics, textile meshes, carpets and natural fibres. It can also produce polyolefin-coated laminates for industrial applications, combining thickness uniformity with high surface quality.
