Shredding and grinding of car bumpers - For grinding injection moulding rejects, and in particular car bumpers and dashboards, Tria proposes a two-stage process that employs a Bumper Shredder made by Matsui, in combination with a grinder. The solution is designed to answer the requirements typical of the automotive sector, by assuring in particular absence of dust in the regrind, low energy consumption and minimal maintenance, together with low noise emissions in the factory. The two-stage operating cycle makes it possible to obtain 200-400 kg/hour of clean and homogeneous regrind. The operation of the shredder is based on 2 rotors with intersecting star cutters, whose low-speed of rotation (approximately 30 rpm) toward the centre of the chamber draws in and cuts the bumpers (or similar rejects), reducing the material to a size of about 70-80 mm per side. The slowness of the rotation and cutting actions ensure that the material is not subjected to mechanical stresses.
