Yokohama achieves zero-emission production
The Thai capacity plant of Yokohama reached the zero-emission goal. This means that the landfill disposal of passenger, trucks and bus tires (manufactured there) is less than 1% of the total output, while 99% is reused in new production cycles. The company has always focused its attention on the development of eco-friendly technologies, a proof of this is Grand Design 100, a medium-range management plan that sets itself a series of aims to put into practice within 2017 (centenary of the company's foundation), such as reducing the global warming. For this purpose , a reforestation plan is being carried out aiming at planting 500,000 trees in the neighbourhood in order to improve the atmosphere and counterbalance the emissions of the capacity plant. So far more than 200,000 trees have been planted.
