Coextrusion of PC corrugated sheets

The testing of a complete coextrusion line for corrugated PC sheets has been scheduled for middle March at the headquarters of Union in San Vittore Olona (near Milan). The sheets will have a width of 1,100 mm and thicknesses varying from 0.8 to 1.2 mm.

This line consists of a primary single-screw extruder model TRS 120 equipped with a high-efficiency double venting system, and a single-screw coextruder model. TR 50, for a total hourly output of 600 kg/h at the throughput speed of 3-4 m/min. The sheets will be produced using a horizontal calender type LO equipped with a calibrator system in order to obtain perfectly wavy shapes ideal for roofs, skylights, covered walkways, and many other applications.
