Four Amut lines for the Cambodian Chip Mong Industries

To start up the production of pipes that will allow it to extend its product range, Chip Mong Industries has chosen Amut to supply the extrusion lines needed for this project. This processing company is a member of the Chip Mong Group that, founded in 1982, is now one of Cambodia’s largest concerns, with activities in areas ranging from the real estate sector to the production and distribution of building materials, and the drinks and beer industry.

“Amut’s technology made such a good first impression on us that we decided to place great trust in the Italian group, purchasing, as a single transaction, four pipe extrusion lines. These lines will produce pipes in different materials, thus allowing us to cover different markets and applications, from water supply to sewage networks. We hope that this will prove to be just the start of a promising partnership, also for future investments", declared James Henshaw, CEO of Chip Mong Industries, during his visit to Amut for the line tests.

A single-screw line, with a screw diameter of 48 mm (L/D ratio=40) and an hourly capacity of 250 kg, will be used for the extrusion of HDPE pipes with diameters ranging from 16 to 63 mm and thicknesses of between 2 and 3.8 mm. Two twin-screw lines, equipped with parallel screws having a diameter of 76 mm (L/D ratio=28) and an hourly capacity of 350 kg, will instead be used for the extrusion of UPVC pipes with diameters ranging from 63 to 125 mm and thicknesses of between 2.5 and 5.2 mm. Finally, a twin-screw line, featuring tapered screws with a diameter of 48 mm (L/D=24) and an hourly capacity of 150 kg, will be used for the extrusion of corrugated pipes in UPVC with diameters of between 16 and 32 mm and thicknesses ranging from 0.1 to 0.6 mm.
