A new division of Camozzi Group

Debuting at EMO 2019 (Hannover, September 16-21), the new Camozzi Group division, Camozzi Machine Tools, created as a result of synergy between two of the group's subsidiaries, Innse-Berardi and Ingersoll Machine Tools, united in a partnership to pool common resources and experiences in the aerospace, defence, heavy metalworking, energy, nautical, mining and railway industries.

 

As a global operator, the division will act as an accelerator of innovation through the technologically advanced solutions and global advising and assistance services that set both companies apart. Ingersoll is a centre of excellence for the manufacture of additives, deposition of carbon fibres and processing of composite materials, while Innse-Berardi has a wealth of expertise in heavy metalworking machinery. Maintaining distinct identities, the two companies will offer a broader portfolio and meet the needs of clients anywhere in the world, with a team-key approach, founded on team work that values their respective abilities to create turnkey projects.

 

Five technological areas form the basis of the Camozzi Machine Tools Division. Additive manufacturing with MasterPrint, one of the largest 3D printers in the world built by Ingersoll for the production of complex thermoplastic parts. The solution, which integrates a positionable head on 5 axis, ensures top reliability, speed and efficiency, which reduces the lead time and production costs by up to 75%.

 

The second area of specialization covers the automatic deposition of carbon fibres. Mongoose is the most advanced technology in this field and in addition to automatic deposition of fibres, it provides finishing and quality control on the same platform.

 

The company also has ample experience in building vertical and horizontal multitasking machining centres. Specifically, vertical machining centres include the Atlas machines by Innse-Berardi and the MasterMill and MasterSpeed families by Ingersoll, which combine the most advanced technologies with the principles of ergonomics and maximum safety, at a limited cost and with top production performance. Leading the pack in horizontal machining centres are Aries by Innse-Berardi and PowerMill and SuperProfiler by Ingersoll, used all over the world for processing titanium, other metals and composite materials. Both technologies can be used in heavy industry, for high-speed applications or applications that require hydrostatic technologies.

 

An important competitive advantage of Camozzi Machine Tools comes from the engineering of special custom machinery jointly with clients, streamlining and boosting the efficiency of production processes, as a result of the application of technologies such as IIoT and cloud computing. The division works closely with Camozzi Digital - a system integrator for application solutions for 4.0 manufacturing - with the aim of applying state-of-the-art ICT systems like IBNet, an end-to-end solution for the central management and control of production processes and IBRM, a suite for real time monitoring of production sites and predictive maintenance operations.

 

During the six days in Germany, ancillary heads developed by Innse-Berardi for its range of vertical and horizontal machining centres are also on show, as will be an example product - an airplane wing component - manufactured on an Ingersoll MasterPrint machine with the 3D printing technology.
