Versatile plant for blown films

Since January 15, a plant has been on show, for demonstration purposes, at the Dolci Extrusion facilities in Biassono (near Monza). The plant in question is a blown film extrusion system for laminating and shrink film with bands of up to 2200 mm, shrink hoods with gussets, elastic hoods, and high-quality film for automatic packaging and high-speed moulding.
The plant features: continuous gravimetric feeders; an extrusion section designed to guarantee an output rate of 700 kg/hour; a fully automatic cooling ring (with micromotors) for thickness control, with tolerances of less than ±2% (2 sigma); a new tilting stretching tip with automatic (remote controlled) control system for gusset forming devices and the panels; a new winder for reels with diameters of up to one metre, with automatic change and the possibility of winding on the axis using torque motors.
Particular attention has been paid to reducing energy consumption levels. The extruders are fitted with water-cooled AC motors, with vector drives, infrared heating resistances, and a new cooling unit to reduce to a minimum the energy required for cooling the inside of the bubble and ring.
