Three-layer rubber hoses

The new Triplex unit developed by Colmec and presented at PLAST 2012 is equipped with three extruders and a 3-layer coextrusion head for producing rubber hoses mainly for the automotive industry. The three independent extruders have a diameter of 90 and 70 mm, while the head allows the centring of the 3 material layers and the perfect adhesion between them without air inclusions.
The dimensional control system ensures tolerances within 0.03 mm for hoses and for the thickness of the three rubber layers. The plant includes cooling, conveying, cutting, and vulcanization units, while an automated system developed to monitor, record, and archive all extrusion parameters ensures consistent quality and process repeatability.
