Powder speed
The Powder Speed system has been developed by Dega for materials that are difficult to feed by vacuum flow systems. Suitable for heavy granules, abrasive materials (filled with fibres), or packed or wet powders, in the gravimetric version it enables large quantities of powdered materials to be dosed and mixed at ground level and then conveyed directly to the hopper or mould. The system reduces wear on piping caused by material flow as the conveyance speed is relatively low; this also eliminates "angel hair" formation and granule breakage during feeding. Thanks to the Booster device with air pressure nozzles, the material can be conveyed up to a distance of 100 m from the loading point without intermediate stations.
The system can be configured as a centralized plant for the transport of bulky (or full pipe) materials to as many as 64 stations. Available in 60-80-150-litre versions, it ensures production of up to 10,500 kg/h over distances of 90 metres. As reported by the company, the first 6 pilot units are currently in operation conveying PVC powder for extrusion and blends for injection moulding.
